Noa Lounge & Restaurant | Watford

by Sophie Ross

Looking for a mid-week treat? Want to hang out with friends in a chilled yet glossy atmosphere? Want great food but not looking to overspend? Let me talk to you about Noa, the new kid on the block for delicious pan-Asian/ grill cuisine and a sophisticated shisha lounge.

Set along St Albans Road in Watford this 7-month-old new hangout is pulling out all the stops to make your visit a memorable one. Ryan and I were invited down last Wednesday to sample their fab menu and try some shisha. After browsing the menu online we had high hopes for it to be a tasty meal.

All the sweet treats!

The entrance to Noa is stunning! With two giant teddy bears and a pink crushed-velvet sofa set against a floral backdrop, they have the perfect insta worthy set up. As you start to walk through to the dining area the pink theme continues. Set towards the back are large velvet booths, tables adorned with dusky pink menus ready to be browsed. We were ready to eat.

Firstly, we ordered some drinks. NOA is an alcohol-free restaurant, therefore, we went for fresh juices. Lychee for me and Passionfruit for Ryan. They were sweet and refreshing without being sickly. To start we went for a combination of small plates. Butterfly Prawns and Halloumi cheese.

Prawns & Halloumi

Breaded Prawns were fried to a crispy perfection, served with a delicious sweet chilli dip. The Halloumi was additionally unreal. Creamy and salty which melted in your mouth. My favourite!

SO good!

Secondly, for mains, we had both decided to go for burgers. Myself the NOA Royale. A fried chicken breast sandwiched between two thick buns. Toppings were my favourite burger essentials. Crispy onion, lettuce, cheese and tomato. All this served with warm house fries. Ryan chose the Sriracha burger. A beef patty topped with cheese, sriracha mayo (yum) lettuce and tomato. Ryan also upgraded his chips to Disco chips. In other words, they were the house chips but fully loaded with turkey, cheese and dynamite sauce. We were not going hungry!

Delightful Deserts

After demolishing our burgers, of course, we found room for dessert. I went for the Nutella French toast. It was chocolate heaven. Nutella and ice cream piled high and topped with strawberries and chocolate sauce. Ryan had chosen the brownie. A melt in the mouth chocolate dream that was warm and gooey also served with berries and ice cream.

In addition to dessert, I also decided to try out one of their non-alcoholic cocktails. I chose a candyfloss one which came with a small theatrical presentation. The juice was poured over the candyfloss and it dissolved into a sweet tangy drink.

Final thoughts?

We were very happy with the service at NOA. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and each course was served within a great time frame. We also got to try some skittle flavoured shisha along with our meal which definitely added to the experience. NOA’s decor also added to the experience. You instantly feel like you are in good hands when places are decorated so beautifully and can make the visit even more special.

Huge thanks to NOA for having us! Visit their Instagram here and go take a visit to experience a taste sensation.
